I don't think being concerned that the car might have a breakdown that leads to a serious injury means you should buy a Volvo!

I think we all accept the risks inherent in driving a 3 wheeled (and therefore much less stable) open car, with no roll protection, very little impact protection etc. But we don't want it to breakdown in such a place as to cause an awful incident!!

I've taken my kids in mine too, but wouldn't want to be in the outside lane of a motorway with them if one of many regular failures took place.

It's odd but the engine - oil issues, valves, drive-belts, fuel pressure, crankshaft bolts - seem to be more of a concern than anything else in terms of this reliability. I don't seem to be hearing anything like as much about bevel boxes which is great, and compensators seem to be less of an issue as do alternators and regulators - all GOOD! I definitely want the spacer amendment made to mine to help the belt cooling even if it is a ridiculous and imperfect 'solution'. Hey - roll on perfection!!!
