Peter,

Horses for courses, I'm sure you will enjoy the Boxster and get more use out of it than you first thought. I jump in and out of the wife's Merc roof down all the time, sometimes rather than get the Morgan out. Just dead easy to drive, especially in the packed roads with day trippers around here at the moment, Got a usable boot and glides along the rough pothole urban roads around here and a peach to drive down some of the undulating country roads I don't take the Morgan down as it often bottoms out.

The crux for me is access to open air motoring. The means of achieving that is always open to debate, but as I get older I enjoy my creature comforts far more. If the sun gets too hot and we are starting to burn, just press a couple of buttons, the roof comes up and the ice cold air conditioning comes on without moving from my seat. Not the same for the Morgan 4 seater hood that needs two to drop or erect with a few curse words for good measure, The only thing I miss is not having a folding metal roof instead of a mohair soft top as you have to make sure its bone dry before lowering it otherwise it will leave creases in it.
