Unfortunately, I think the lead time to get an alternative nation wide fuel infrastructure in place to make the ICE sustainable after the UK sales cut off of ICE in 2030 is just not plausible IMHO. We may well see the 40 year MOT exemption still in place for the earlier cars, but I get a strong sense that there will be extended emission free zones basically extended across the UK making it almost impossible to drive most ICE's or at immense zone charges to do so. As the support industry will move away from ICE we may find the Insurance Industry will decrease/cease to support or seriously hike premiums for ICE as repair costs may well sky rocket.

So I see a perfect storm of tightening emission regulation, ICE support infrastructure disappearing. fuel availability issues quickening the pace of change and maybe the public perception of the ICE as part of the problem of creating further weather disruption across the world......
