I shudder when I realise how many times, as a kid, I got badly sunburnt.
But so far....so good.
A lot depends on your DNA and skin type. Yellowish, oily skin, the sort that results in spots as a teenager, seems to be less susceptible to UK damage than fair, dry skin.
Look back to your parents: if they had any sort of skin cancer then you are far more at risk.

One of the reasons I keep my hair long is to protect my ears from sunlight. I wear a baseball cap or a peaked "flat hat".
