Yup, I've had a few BCC removed, mostly from my back. Again time overseas the most likely cause. Once you've had one there is a 50% chance of a second apparently. If you get the second then it goes up to 70%+ you will have more (that was my Dr's comment when he found 3 on my back). If found early treatable with a cream (for genital warts). Not much use to me on my back nowadays as I don't have anyone to apply it daily
With the Covid lockdown I haven't been able to get back for a further skin check - my surgery suffering with staff sickness/shortages. I might have to try another just for a skin check.
I won't comment on the Receptionist's advice...
