Seems like a good, clean car. $88k is about £64k. UK prices seem to start there and ramp up to £120k, or more.
But the US one has non original 5 speed gear box and disk front brakes, so possibly devaluing it in the eyes of the purist.

Handling? I'd guess like a well sorted Roadster, but with a bit more suspension travel, given a steel ladder type chassis, IRS via torsion bars and quater elliptical rear springs.
The body is steel, but the first 100 were ash framed aluminium.

Interesting at the price!
