Not sure how the bidding works on BaT, but it went from $21,000 to $42,000 in one bid. Lot of money for a plastic replica smile

I am an avid watcher of the BaT auction site as you know and it is not unusual for bids to "gap"
Seems to happen where the bidder is confident and wants to sort out the "bargain hunters" who think they can snip a prize
Similar to a knockout bid at any auction that can frighten off the competition
