I was strongly interested in getting that car, I thought it would go in the 45-50k$ range and would afford me the opportunity of a finally getting into aero ownership with the undrstanding that I could experience some higher running cost during the first few months. Much to my surprise it went way above that. I talked to the owner (very nice guy) and his mechanic/electrician. The amount of money spent on the rebuilt of the car was incredible, north of 40k. Pretty much everything electronic was changed but the wiring loom: started, alternator, EWS, ECU, dash instruments, windshield wiper motor, window motor. All drivetrain was checked, clutch, TOB, pressure plate replace, gearbox and transmission opened, all bearings replaced.
What baffles me is that I was apparently the only one from the 7-8 people willing to drop 45k or more on the car to pick up the phone. at the end I think the seller got a great price for his car, and the buyer a good deal if everything works out ok.
