A little more than that Peter.

To that you have to add the thousands of cases that have been reported as flu.

PS. I should point out that the high number in Italy is solely because of the mass screening that has, and is, being done around anyone who has become infected. Italy is doing more screening than any other country to date.

Things are moving VERY rapidly.
At the time I wrote that post, it seemed so to be. But now? No one really knows. I agree with you, if every nation was taking screening so diligently there would be hundreds of thousands reported as "positive".
I don't think it will be long before other nations put strict controls in place.
the next 4 to 6 weeks will be VERY challenging: as an "over 65 with pre-existing lung and heart issues I'm already being careful where I go and what I do.
I don't understand why people are panic buying toilet paper: the other stuff I sort of get, though hand sanitising gels are great against bacteria but not very effective against viruses. Hot water, soap and rigorous washing are best.
