For those who really need to self isolate because of underlying health conditions, getting food is going to become a real issue. Supermarket delivery slots are gone - so are 'click and collect' slots. The Sainsbury's site for my area gives slots up to the middle of April - and there are none to be had. To compound the issue, they are now rationing supplies - if you order 4 tins of soup, that's halved to 2 and this means surviving for a month on 2 tins of things... not possible.

The food distribution chain is fairly robust - with cafes, hotels and restaurants closing down there should be food surplus. But right now, you can't buy anything - at least not in my area.

The next crisis? I hope not.



Rationing in the UK is now official , limit is 2 or is it three of the same item . Not sure how this is going to be policed as one could conceivably nip back into the supermarket and fill ones tolley again . rationing cards may be the answer ! banghead At least we aren't being bombed ......yet ! stirpot
