That's a priceless experience John watching old craftsmen in action. Our Tower Captains son had finished university and was looking around for a job on the land and got a deal with the NT at Coleton Fishacre. This was just what he was after and they taught him proper traditional hedge laying, copiccing, dry stone walling and a whole rake of traditional skills, they have specialist around the country that they send them to and it was very encouraging to hear of their investment in this way.

He is a lovely chap and has Apsbergers so it has been very uphill for him to attain a degree and unfortunately the NT apprentice scheme was for a limited period which has now expired, last I heard prior to lockdown he was still looking for a job. I'm sure he'll find one he is a charming young man and built like a fast train.
