NO Sale - Bid to US$ 55,500.00, DNMR (Did Not Meet Reserve)
And the commentary got a bit nasty to boot.....

Here is the last entry:-
I’ve had better cars run over me, and a drophead coupe is a drophead coupe. When you refused to drop the top, you lost our confidence in your faux landaus. Good luck with the cognicenti you’ll find at Amelia. If you ever get over fifty thousand again, you’ll be a lucky fella. Trying to put one over on the Bat community is not the best of ideas. And the shame of it is that we don’t forget very easily. Let us know how much this drophead brings you at Amelia Island.

Crikey. That's pretty bitchy.

To be fair, the description is a little confusing, as the headline describes it as a Sedanca Drophead rather than a Sedanca Coupé, then in the text it is described as having a 3 position soft top (which it has not).

Sedanca means a car that can be open over the drivers head, but hard top over the passengers. A 2 door Sedanca Coupé is what would probably be described nowadays as a Targa. The irate would-be buyer is perhaps not familiar with the Sedanca body style. Some (as in this case) were built to look like a DHC, whilst others (such as Simon Taylor of C&SC's) the hard top over the rear section is clearly just that. The cognoscenti will have no trouble recognising this car for what it is.

Despite the terminological inexactitude, it looks like a decent car. The irate response seems rather over the top.
