I have to agree with Alistair, The car made the movie not the other way around, The first movie was in 2001 well after for Australian's Bathurst made the car when it obliterated the local V8's much to the disgust of many local V8 loving Bogan's. I expect similar things happened in other countries and the cars were well know well before the movies made.

Turbo Charging and AWD was banned from 1993 to allow the V8's to win again but by then every school kid knew turbo's and computers will beat V8's all day long. What I find odd is I thought the whole purpose of motor racing was to improve cars and let technology trickle down to passenger vehicles, how can banning technology help the trickle down.

I expect the seller is very happy to have $450K seeing it is advertised for $480K elsewhere.

I don't have the money but I always like the GTR 32 and would have liked to get on of the 100 Australian released cars.
