Had a beautiful solo drive down to Williams yesterday, to make the most of this cracking summer weather. Hadn't used it since Thrilling up the Hill and having made the decision to go the night before I was almost excited!
Cross country through the Cotswolds in hot sun, tee shirt and sunglasses, with the odd wave given back to the smiles, was the very essence of M3W magical motoring. Got blasted by an impatient Porsche along the Fosse Way only to have to pull up behind him at the temporary lights around the corner, so all that testosterone would be just sitting there fuming whilst I sat in the sun topping the tan up.
The car ran exceptionally. It really did, with nothing untoward making funny noises, vibrating or even threatening to pack up, fall off or give up the ghost.
Down at Williams, Lawrie had the car up on the ramp and the oil weep identified as an S&S oil seal issue. Easily rectified with a few hours spanner work, so car booked in for when he's back from his long haul family holiday.
Several cuppa's later & a good chat with the dogs, I jumped back in and hot two junctions of the M4 before heading back up to Chipping Norton to catch up with a friend for tea.
It's not many days you can drive 150 miles in an open topped car in just a tee shirt here in the UK. Luvverly!!
Car now has just over 3000 miles up, and we're bonding a little deeper every time. Like all good relationships, it just perhaps needs time..
