Well, I went for a test drive with the Krazy Horse demo car today, with my 33 year old son. This late 2014 sports grey model has been upgraded with their stage 2 performance upgrade and looks to be well sorted.

I come to this game incredibly naive and green: the top speed of my current engine is 17.2 mph, I have never had a sports car, never driven a motorcycle. What are the reasons for even considering such a car? I have had a strange hankering for a sports car with tan upholstery and grey body colour, after seeing an open top Audi TT many years ago in that colour way. My father learnt to drive in a pre-war Morgan three wheeler and I've always liked their appearance with the visible engine. It is the only sports car that would fit in my garage (albeit with some re-arrangement of the machine tools).

As for the test drive, I have never driven anything with such noise and visceral acceleration! The ride comfort around the local Suffolk roads was far better than I expected, and it is a long while since I have been in a car that you actually drive. I don't think the grin left my face throughout the test run, although that may have been the wind. I suspect that I have been spoilt by driving this tuned M3W. No question my two sons (31 & 33) would like the car. If it's a mid-life crisis then, actuarially, I should now live to 120.

Downside is that my wife, who has had serious orthopaedic problems and is awaiting a R knee replacement, might get in to it but getting out could, currently, be rather challenging. So, I said I would phone them on Monday to let them know my decision.
