No fog today Monday it was 17C & cloudless sky. My garden needed work & car needed washing but I was not going to miss a great driving day. I headed for the Lecht Road, Cock Bridge to Tomintoul via Alford & Kildrummy, returning via Dufftown & Rhynie.
It was one of my best drives ever 110 miles. No one passed me & after 55 miles I overtook a tanker lorry & 20 miles further on a car, all on A & B roads, in Dufftown I saw two moving vehicles. Can you do that in Surrey? I could just go at my own chosen pace for 95% of my drive.
Lecht road is 20% in places so brakes are needed. Cock Bridge to Tomintoul & Dufftown to Rhynie are two of the most snow affected roads. The Council wanted to rename the village of Lost as the signs were often stolen. The Residents were not having that.
