There has not been one amazing day that would make an interesting story, but almost every day out in my 3W I receive a comment or have a discussion with a person that makes me smile. Sometimes the question or comment needs no answer. In no particular order:
From an old white haired lady... "Cute car. Did that come out of a box?" I get many people asking if the 3W is hand-made.
"That is the most beautiful car I've ever seen" "beautiful" and "cool" comes up a lot in the comments. "Beautiful from women, "Cool" from men
"Can I take a picture? My son and I have a contest. Who can get a picture of the most interesting car. He's never going to top this!"
A guy leaning out the passenger window of a dump truck yells. "Is that a J.P. Morgan?"
A kid on the sidewalk, about 6 years old, giving me a big grin and two thumbs up. This happens a lot.
I get a few thumbs up from bicyclists, much more from truck drivers.
A Porsche convertible was coming toward me from the opposite direction. Suddenly 4 arms shot into the air with the V sign. 95 % of motorcyclists give me the two finger V... which I return.
Here in California, we have a lot of restored 50's and 60"s cars on the road... I get the thumbs up from these guys too.
I sometimes stop at a biker gathering place in the hills. They seem to accept me immediately... I think it's the big V-twin thumper up front that's my passport. The want to know how much horsepower, top speed, ride, do I have to wear a helmet, how does it handle, how is it registered... etc. I invariably get a grin from them when I tell them I'm too old for 2 wheels now, and I would rather be sliding sideways on a wet road on 3 wheels instead of two.
One of the biker ladies wanted her picture taken with the Morgan.. and me too. I felt like a celebrity.
I was at a gas station and a guy came running up to the Morgan. He said "when I heard that engine I knew there was something cool there" I was running straight pipes at the time.
And, sometimes, it's just a pleasant conversation with a stranger... nothing amazing, just entertaining.
I can park my 3W next to a new Ferrari and everyone wants to know about the Morgan. It's a great conversation starter.
