Well I can say that the upper triangle and the (in)famous exhaust header kept everything in place. I can also say that it was indeed scary, it was night, I was on the Motorway and I was cruising at about 140 kmh when it happened. I heard a loud BANG but (surprisingly) all I noticed was that the driving wheel became off centered, meaning, to go straight I had to push the wheel a bit to the left. I immediately reduced speed (not touching the brakes, of course) and asked my niece (was the passenger that day) to glance over and check if anything was wrong. She said all seemed ok but it was undeniable something had happened. I was 5 miles from a service area so I went on, at reduced speed (for a Motorway at night that is ...) until I parked. After I saw what I saw, I called the ACP (Automobile Club of Portugal) and soon I had a flat bed truck and a taxi to take me to Lisbon.

The next day I had all Suplex shocks off the car and all the Spax fitted into it (how glad I am that I asked to take them with me to Lisbon, despite my wife's disconfort with them at her feet all the journey). M3W back to my garage, and ready for more adventures!

PS - As can be seen in this picture. Lots of clearance to the exhausts by the way ...
