Our 5-Speeder - the one in green in the middle - was, by far, the most cheered car in the whole show! Despite there were some jewels such an astonishing DB4 and a shining beautiful E-Type amongst others. But people were amazed around the 3-Wheelers, and the 5-Speeder was the most admired. I was really proud.
About the Super3, I downloaded it from the flatbed truck and drove it inside the pavilion. So, I can’t say I really tested it.
Easy things you immediately notice: it turns incredibly better than the 5-Speeder. I mean, the turning radius is much smaller. The driving position is much higher, and you don’t feel so “wrapped” by the car’s body. In my 5-Speeder I have a better “cocoon” feeling. . I mean: you feel more "exposed" but nothing scary in the Super3 .
And the adjustment of the steering wheel and pedals is super simple and really great. MMC did a fantastic job with the pedals’ adjustment.
But I find it a lot more difficult to get in and out of the Super3. Because the seats are longer and the hip of the car higher, geting in and out is not a simple task.
Negative point for me: the fold of the leather of the seam in the central tunnel, where my hip rests, hurt me. It sticks into you. And the Tayre’s salesman detected this same problem. But only large hip people like me complained about it. I guess it can be solved somehow. And we both noticed that the foil of the leather in this particular car, was thicker precisely there, at the hip, than in other places. Probably a handcrafted “defect” but just in this unit? I guess it’s the risk and the glamour of having a hand-made car…
I prefer the vintage look of my 5-Speeder. No doubt. But seeing the Super3 live, it’s a really nice-looking machine. Quite stunning I would say! And the most important: I had three days to “play” with it in the stand, and I have to say the quality upgrade compared to our beloved 5-Speeder is amazing. The Super3 (despite details like the mentioned fight between my hip and the leather fold) is a much higher quality product.
Tayre told me that if you order one today, you won't get it before July 2023. And apparently the waiting time is increasing. Apparently it's becoming a success! Good news for MMC.
