I did ask whilst my Roadster was being built if stub axles and track rod ends were painted, after seeing rust on new ones whilst still in assembly. I was told yes they get painted black. In actual fact they get sprayed over with black underseal although with the required masking only small parts of the stub axle receive this treatment.
On my M3W the TRE's received no coating at all and nothing seems to have changed with the Super 3. The first job I did on both new cars was to paint with silk black Hammerite as much of the bare metal suspension parts as possible. I appreciate some owners nowadays may not want to do this but it seems MMC still rest their laurels on Peter Morgan's philosophy of not providing a fully finished car, to allow new owner participation

Next winter I will be replacing kingpins and bushes and actually look forward to the opportunity this will provide of fully painting the stub axles.
