Fitting better quality SKF items solves the problem. You would like to think that MMC would have been fitting better quality bearings in later production M3W's and new Super 3's but...... Not sure if the Super 3 has the same set up as the M3W but the rear swing arm looks very similar, just a bit wider. I imagine the extra loading with a wider back tyre and extra weight of the car will not help with bearing life?
Ouch. I was surprised to see there are 18 UK Super 3s for sale via https://www.carandclassic.com/list/83/super%203/ right now. This list could be out of date but it seems a highish number for the Summer season... Auction price of £40K for a basic but usable spec seems fair.
