There's nothing wrong with a belt drive.
Don't see many Super3's here in France but there are a couple in Northern departments, Nestor will know them all.

any modification is a cost, knowing it ain't a big seller, I doubt changes are made to build it more cost-effective

if they could lower the price by 15K £, sales would probably improve, but that would mean overall cost-cutting or re-negotiation with the suppliers

Belt to chain drive is a simple cost reduction as its just a straightforward set of replacement parts and also probably attempts to cure the drive wheel/swing arm misalignment with the bevel box/tub...aka belt whine.

Carbon fibre material front mudguards changing to steel material is definitely aimed at reducing the cost of build.

Lowering the price by 15k - but MMC (and dealers) have been doing this for a while now, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if you turned up at MMC tomorrow with £35k you could be driving away in a new S3... hide
