I'm with you there Richard, a couple of years back we went to the National Hedge Laying competition. Held on a farm in Wiltshire on a freezing cold, very wet Sunday in March.

I never realised there were so many regional variations on laying a hedge. (ooh matron!) Also, some wonderful characters there too, including the Scottish contingent who were in kilts and tee shirts in spite of the weather!
