Not a big fan of powdercoating - one small chip and the whole area is ruined, and it hides a multitude of sins before it finally peels off.
I'm more of a 'slap on the POR15' kind of guy. Easy to re-apply and patch in any chips.....
Surely the "multitude of sins" should have been removed during preparation before paint applied. Any paint finish will fail if it isn't.
Maybe I've just been lucky with my local powder coat company (with shot blasters next door) but had no issues on a wide variety of parts over the years. I will admit that a heavy strike can chip though but very localised damage easily touched up.
