Alistair, I refer to those who, for example, insist on putting " 's" (e.g. car's) rather than just adding an "s" to the end of a word (e.g. cars - which is the plural of car).
Just as bad are those that add 's, instead of the correct "ies", e.g. universities (correct, but they write university's - which means belong to a university).
Things that were drummed into me during school English lessons (and by my folks smile ).
