As they say each to their own........if its something you enjoy then absolutely fine but not everyone does, I assume Santa Pad was there when you bought your house, so something you have always lived with. I find eg when we stay with friends in Sunningdale who are on the Heathrow flight path, the continuous flights overhead are not something I enjoy, yet I live within a mile or so of several airfields with helicopters and the occasional RAF jet taking off and landing at BAE Warton to a thunderous roar by comparison, can be eventful but not a nuisance by comparison to Sunningdale air traffic. I suppose in part it's what you are used to.

They recently built housing on the old Pontins site either side of the end Blackpool airport main runway with a railway line between the housing estate and the runway. Both the airport runway and the railway line have been there before the houses were built, people knew they were there when they bought the houses but the noise complaints from the residents never cease. It's a strange old world.

With being so close to Blackpool Airport we do enjoy the Red Arrows and the Historic flights of the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster as they use Blackpool as an overnight base for all the local air shows. Nothing quite like watching the historic flight seemingly just clipping the sand dunes ...at the end of the runway as they bank low to the left and head to Southport just across the Ribble estuary.........you can feel the engine noise pass through you.
