Hydrogen is certainly part of the answer, but for many folks like us, BEV is the perfect solution. We can charge at home from our solar panels, we hardly ever do long journeys (and if we did they'd be largely on motorways so no shortage of charge points), and the simplicity and low cost compared to HFCEV is significant. I rather like not having to go and find a filling station every few days, being able to come home, plug in and knowing that we're fully charged ready to go in the morning is hugely convenient for us.
