Depreciation is zero as they're very old and holding value but if you added in Tax, Insurance and Servicing, you can add an extra 3p per mile on to hers, and 4p per mile on mine.

I think I read earlier that an EV was on about 11p per mile (but I think that was just fuel costs alone). I've seen other websites quoting about 5-6p but again, insurance and depreciation are not factored in (I think EV's are currently tax free? - that'll probably change soon when the Gov't realise they are losing a massive amount of revenue).

My EV is costing 6p a mile (up from 4p with the increased tariff), there's no depreciation as the car is worth more than I paid for it. I am also saving on zero servicing and zero road tax.

Things will change, but with tax savings and savings on running costs, it's nearly paid for itself already. That aside, it's a very comfortable, quiet and rapid commuting appliance. Easy to own and cheap to run.

I guess I could have shopped around for an old diesel that might get close on cost per mile and try and service it myself - but I don't want that sort of car to be honest.
