We bought a BMW PHEV 18months ago as a second car for the wife.
Didn’t take too long for us to realise that with a 14-20 mile electric range we should have gone full electric as it’s charged off solar or Octopus Go night rate @ 12p/kWh and we became ICE phobic when driving it.
Yesterday we did a straight swap for a Mini Electric Cooper S level 2. Ok it’s smaller but the size and approx 100m range is plenty for us.
It’s a great car to drive, comfortable, quick, nimble and VED free (for now) whereas we were paying £510 per year for the PHEV.
One observation on electric cars regarding acceleration, in an ICE it takes a bit of determination and some skill get to stated 0-60 times, but in an EV

can do it which is a bit scary.
