You just have to read the comments section on any EV review to see that many car owners seem to think the existance of EVs is some kind of personal insult. But we all have to remember there is no "Planet B"; EVs are still very early in their evolution; most of us reading this have huge and embarrassing carbon footprints compared to our grandparents' generation.

The current availability of 2nd hand EVs is an opportunity for some of us: I was just looking at some newer IBM i3's whose realistic 100 mile range would be good enough for our 2nd car needs (20-50 miles per day for a community NHS role). Tempting, if extravagant,...
