Back on topic - we visited Slimbridge WWT centre yesterday. At one end of the car park 6 charging points, all occupied. A number of other EV scattered around the car park - whether they were hoping for a top up I have no idea. As we left shortly before closing time, a staff member was covering over the charging points with plastic dustbin liners, presumably to keep the forecast rain out.

Mix of grain and bread Graham. The swans seem to be chasing for food. They came right up to me despite Monty on a short lead. Grandchildren moved him away. It is the closest contact ever. One even checked out a coat pocket. This winter they seem to be more active watching people as if hungry. They still graze on the grass. In summer the weed growth is thick but they seem to be doing less underwater arse up grazing. Less weed visible. There is a plan to clear out gudgeon ( invasive species) early in new year. Clear out the carp, kill off the gudgeon, replace carp. Meeting in the overlooking pub Jan 5 to tell us the plan details. It’s a decent size lake about 1mile circumference but not very deep. Man-made when the steelworks was removed. There is the Penclacwydd Wetlands centre a couple of miles away up the Burry Estuary. Whole area was redeveloped from heavy industrial . Another £90m+ improvement just started.
