Here's how much longer the screws I used, it looks less in the image but they're actually 7mm longer, just enough to give a good bite into fresh timber.

And for a belt and braces approach here's the epoxy I used, my hope is it's built up and strengthened the worn threads the original factory wood screws chewed into the ash door frame back in late 2011 when Monty was first built?

The combination of longer screws and a smear of wood specific epoxy on their threads does seem to have done the trick, but only time will tell if it's a permanent solution to the new screws backing out as the old ones kept doing mad

And here's how the Torx security screws look as a replacement to the original cross heads that you can see are currently still in use on the door handle escutcheon, but soon to be replaced too.
