Think water has been coming in from the hole where the electrical feed goes through. All dried and greased so need to figure out some kind of gaiter to stop further water coming in.

I think the water ingress issue is exacerbated because the plastic angled plinth (6 below) does not provide a a smooth flat surface for the lamp and particularly it's rubber backing to sit against, allowing it to pucker up when bolted up tight to inner wing. This because of the moulded internal bracing of same. Plenty of silicone grease on assembly should prevent water ingress though.

Although not shown there should be a very short length of steeply angled snug fitting rubber tube (to match slope of inner wing) added before washer and securing nut are also added. When tightened this should stop water creeping up securing bolt threads.


Thanks Richard. Think I'm going to purchase some thin rubber sheeting to fashion some form of rubber seal from within the wheel arch. Might try and form a thin 1mm rubber gasket to go between "6" and the bodywork.
