I have tried to assist but t appears that i have tested the patience of some of the above contributors and probably others.
It is important to stress the following points:-
1. The work done to the brakes (see the above email of the 15th July 2022 which i did not receive) were not done pursuant to the terms of any warranty but pursuant to the recall notice. The relevant legislation required MMC to do the work required by a recall notice whatever the term of the warranty as to time ( that is even if the 12 or 30 month period with or without a 3 month extension has expired). The recall notice did not relate to the cooling system. 2. Accordingly the said email has nothing to do with the warranty period (whatever that may be). 3. With respect it is not an argument solely about semantics. The question is what are the terms of the warranty given the headings in the Handbooks which I quote and the way in which the "information" is given. 4. The argument about semantics in my case is about what the words in the 2021 Handbook mean - are they saying there is a 30 month general warranty limited to 12k miles or is it such a warranty limited to the recovery service.
We have paid our money and must take our choice - I for my part am not going to email MMC as suggested because it will add to the confusion. That is my personal decision and I await events
Ok fair enough. Trust me you are covered for 30 months so there really is no need to contact MMC. If you want to see what they emailed me re the warranty just send a private message and I'll send it.
