Had a 500+ km trip over the weekend to NSW's high country wine growing area, Orange. Famous for among other wines, its superb Chardonnays.

The drive up was in warm sunny conditions, about 16 degrees. No rain.

SHWMBO is a foodie so I was happy to obey and we had some great experiences.

The wineries visited in order of appreciation, De Salis, Philip Shaw and Ross Hill. They are very civilized up there. No jostling at a counter. They sit you down at a table and pour generous tasting amounts.

Left Orange mid-morning yesterday for the trip home, 8 degrees, with the hood down. By the time we got to the Blue Mountains we were nicely chilled - to the bone.

Discretion was the better part etc and the hood went up for the last 100kms.

Lessons learned? Thermal underwear!

The Morgan didn't let me down but reminded me of the care it needs. The R/V mirror fell off! After our last similar trip into the country, when she just ran for 10 Kms with little power, this was a breeze, a chilly one!
