You are right about Suffolk, there are many lovely old villages and market towns set amongst the rolling hills and flat coastal plains, all connected by superb, winding country lanes and small A roads.
Unfortunately, the county is also bisected by the notorious A14, with it's wall to wall lorries heading to and from Felixstowe docks, and the A12 running down through Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex heading into London. These roads are easily avoided though, especially if you have time to meander about. Each time I go out for a drive I end up covering 100 to 150 miles of great roads, countryside and coastline.
