Just returned in Morton from a visit to family just north of Hull. Spent a couple of nights in local hotel and as the day was free yesterday had a trip down memory lane exploring childhood haunts in the sleepy villages of the Yorkshire Wolds.

Photo here of view from what must be one of the highest points north of Market Weighton. From here you can view into Lincolnshire beyond the river Humber which can be seen to the south, with York to the west, maybe even Leeds under clearer conditions.

Continued north through Malton and on to Thornton-le-Dale to visit the lovely village and Mathewsons car auctions, which seemed to be benefitting from the TV exposure aided by the sunshine. Derek was busy with a film crew showing this recently arrived Renault Alpine which looked in good order under the dust.

Then cut across country, exchanging waves with a maroon and silver Mog heading north, and on to the coast for a plate of seafood and a coffee at Bridlington harbour.

Routed back inland, again via the Wolds to find I'd covered close to 140 miles on arrival back at hotel. A few beers and a curry with family that evening rounded off a splendid day.
