Short trip today to the Haynes motor museum in Somerset from our base near Sherborne, Dorset on second full day of FolkMog holiday. Have to say I've never visited such a smart museum of any kind. A £7m payout on the sale of Haynes publishing plus the Covid closures allowed a complete rebuild of museum buildings and car parks.

Not just the building, layout and lighting but the presentation of cars themselves which get polished on regular rotation.

Particularly enjoyed the red room which included a wide range of performance cars including two Morgan's, a 30's JAP engined three wheeler and a +8. Favourite in this area was an XKSS with purposeful external rivets, albeit a replica.

Lesser marques were covered as well.
