Ian S: Driving on the M6 in ANY car is no fun in my experience. If we travel north from Somerset, we inevitably have to do a stretch on the M5 to get over the Severn and to avoid Bristol. We have concluded that screens on and even roof up is more comfortable, mainly to cut down on wind and tyre noise.
Incidentally, a few years back, we came up behind a cattle lorry on the M5, when one of the occupants decided it was time to relieve herself. As it issued from just below the back door and briskly got carried by the wind, our windscreen very quickly turned brown…so much so, we had to pull onto the hard shoulder, as vision was virtually obliterated!
