The feeling down here is that the sea will eventually take it all back again in the not too distant future.

The Ley itself was saltwater going back a few hundred years with no metalled road at all along the Line. My experience of the sea is that it always wins all it's battles lets just hope it's not for a while so everybody can enjoy this captivating and historically important bit of coastline. They always blame the moving of the gravel to build Plymouth Dockyard but I think the saline Ley predates this although I'm sure it must be a contributory factor.

Yes I do realise how lucky we are Dave, hopefully it won't be too long before you are enjoying it as well.
