Eldest son in Hungary, youngest in the capable hands of one of his carers so Rach and I escaped, hood down, sidescreens off, over to a village in East Lancashire called Fence for a slap up lunch with Friends.

A great drive A6 to Bamber Bridge, A59 to just before Clithero, A671 to Padiham then on to A6068 to the Ye Old Sparrow Hawk in Fence

Great lunch, 3 hours later said our goodbyes, got in the MOG, turned the key, nothing, flat battery, not a wimper

Remembered that as we headed through a bit of mist on the journey over, I turned on the sidelights and of course completely forgot when I parked up

doh

Bummer said Dougal

I was parked in the prime spot just infront of a busy beer garden with everyone dining out in the sun

blush

Fortunately our friends hadn't left and Tony drove me to Nelson 3 miles away and the very first shop we came to was an open auto parts shop

£16 lighter with a pair of heavy duty 3 metre jump leads, headed back to the pub and jumped the Mog from Tony's X5 - not easy finding and getting to the battery on the X5 let alone the Mog

Left the cars running as we enjoyed the one we went for sat in the sun laughing at our/my silliness and relieved at our relatively painless rescue

A great drive home and passed another Morgan coming through our home village of Croston - waves, flashes and smiles duly exchanged
