At least they are spending the money, but Torcross must be on borrowed time. We were there soon after the road was breached a few (many?) years ago, and even last April they were hard at work. The beach has changed significantly in the last 40 years, and now is much lower, in fact the top of the steel piling was visible in front of the village last April, after a window breaking night of high tide and wind.
Most of the shingle has gone elsewhere and now its coarse sand, which I suspect doesn't absorb the pounding as well as shingle.

You are very lucky being able to drive that route when you like Richard.....................................
