K. I think that the DVLA only issued some previously unused 3 letter, 3 number Scottish plates to accommodate pre 1963 classics that were re-imported to the UK,
My dealer contact told me that he used it as an indicator of it being a possible re-import.

I am quite interested in early plates and was lucky enough to acquire one for my 2003 4/4,
It has 3 letters (YDV) followed by 3 numbers.
First used in 1958 on an Austin A35, by Pikes Garage Exeter.
I bought it cheaply from the son of the first owner, prior to him scrapping the car,
