768 miles since Monday morning. Home to Lewtrenchard, Devon on Monday. Onto Polperro on Tuesday (damaged road with exhaust entering and leaving premises but still intact-phew). Bought a picture of Polperro in the snow and a wooden propellor in town (why wouldn’t you get one from a fishing village??) which subsequently found out was too wide to fit across the back behind the seats (ooops, I was a bit optimistic) this meant Lady HB had to spend the rest of the week holding onto it sticking from her footwell up into the sky..... Onto Trewithian via Bodmin steam on Wednesday. Onto Hungerford via Boscombe (defo recommend the aviation collection-can get into lots of different cockpits, took me back to my youth with the Chipmunk, v knowledgeable and helpful people present to chat to-brilliant) on Thursday. Back home yesterday. Majority of the time top down but regular showers meant frequent rapid stops to put roof up. Only time she leaked (the car, not Lady HB) was on Thursday in v heavy rain but only couple of drops. Florence was absolutely flawless throughout in terms of mechanical operation and sheer joy to drive. Much kindness shown by other people throughout, including photos, chats and waves from everyone from Ozzie fans, families, kids, biker ladies, white van man etc etc. Big shout out for Overboard bag (completely dry no matter how heavy the rain) and Kanulocks for security. Only saw one other Morgan the whole trip, which was a dark one on Thursday near St Austell. Lots of top notch hotels and food. Fuel economy varied between 40-45 which exceeded my expectations massively.
Overall a ruddy brilliant trip for me and Lady HB and a real high for us. I loved every exhausting second of it!
Can’t wait for our next major run, whenever that may be.
