From what I've heard, the beading is synthetic as 3 in 1 oil will also effect natural rubber

We need a 'rubber expert' innocent

I was global supply chain director for an industrial rubber company. The US immigration never laughed when I said I was big in industrial rubber.
Natural latex ruber will swell with mineral oils. It also deteriorates fairly rapidly in UV & ozone (see elastic bands as an example). Rubber on cars is synthetic and oil resistant in varying levels depending upon the type. 3 in 1 or AFC50 would attack natural rubber. If MMC recommend 3 in 1 I would use it as purely looking at a seal will not tell you the formula.
