Just back from a weekend trip.
Friday's drive down the M5 wasn't the most pleasant with the headwind. As i was running early I diverted off at Jn 22 for a drive up Cheddar Gorge - never driven it! Car needs a wash now.
Anyway long round trip to Street, passing an oncoming, roof on, Ivory coloured Morgan before dropping down into Wells.
Saturday, took my pal down to Berrybrook again. Good to meet up with Martin (Deano)and G4LZU (hope I've remembered the call sign correctly). One of the "model" showman's engines was in steam, great to watch, might upload a photo next week. However, what really caught my eye was a Y suffix (1982'ish?) SL280, with hardtop and only 52,000 miles. Tooka while to get the bonnet open, but the car looked really clean and in good condition. Apparently had been traded in against a +8. Surprised there weren't more visitors. Unfortunately, none of Henry's Mum's chocolate cake, though the available cake wasn't bad smile. Back to Street for Saturday evening, then a pleasant drive back via Shepton Mallett, Frome, Trowbirdge and up the A350/A429/A417 to home.
heading north through the village of Kemble and what should be heading south but that dark coloured HT11MOG. Big waves, of course smile
Once I'd turned right off the A429 to head north to Cirencester there was another Morgan heading south toward Tetbury - more Waving of course.
Great couple of days, will really miss the Morgan comradeship out on the road, but knackered knees, plus a need to downsize the "fleet" mean a maximum of 2 motors... frown
