Why wind up the police/gendarmes/ carabinieri etc?
It can change a mild reprimand into a costly incident.
When I was in our Ops room I had a call from a chap wanting to complain about the attitude of 2 officers.
They had pulled him over for speeding but he became argumentative. As a result they checked his details, car etc and he ended up with 3 offences. He was whinging to me about them.
I asked him if he had been speeding, bad lights.
Yes.
Why argue with them then? They were only going to give you a reprimand and tell you to slow down. Instead you pissed them off and they you now have 3 tickets instead of none. Speeding, defective light, only one brake light. Why not take the reprimand on th3 chin and suck it up? What makes you think you are above that?
He eventually agreed and went on his way.
