A jaunt down to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard today. A fairly boring but uneventful motorway blast (A417/M4/A34/M3/M27), but great to meet up with some old pals. If anyone hasn't been recently, the Mary Rose exhibition is genuinely stunning these days. When I last went 25 years or so ago it was little more than a load of damp wood in a shed being constantly sprayed with water or something and bugger all else. Now it's an amazing presentation with integrated videos and all the recovered artefacts cleverly presented so you get a real feel for what it would have been like.

Queen Elizabeth the aircraft carrier was in town, completely dwarfing the little HMS M.33 gun monitor from the Gallipoli campaign. Certainly imposing, but you wouldn't say it's the most beautiful ship ever built. I guess the odd angles of the superstructure are all about deflecting radar?
