Today started with a 60 mile drive to an autocross event at a county fairgrounds parking lot. There were about 60 cars that turned up, mostly Mazda MX-5 Miatas. There was one Lotus Elise, a couple of Alfas, and a smattering of Corvettes and BMW M3s. The rest was what you might call a "hot hatch." I was assigned to the third heat. To make a long story short, after my first of eight runs, an uncomfortably close (<1km) bolt of lightning shut down the remainder of the event. There was a mad scramble to pack up and get going before the skies opened up.

A 120-mile round trip for one lousy warmup run. Still, the car ran well, and the warmup run was enough to trounce the best of the eight runs posted by a 240Z.
