To the shops and back- too far to walk, and to get to work. We don't have a freezer, let alone a second one, and only 2 store cupboards for dry goods; no microwave, and only a small fridge, so consequently we shop every day or two for the three of us, a cat and a dog. I do have another car, a 06 saab estate diesel with 165k on the clock; as for which one will break down or be involved in a crash, well that's anyone's guess. I'm self employed as a surveyor, can work remotely and isolated without needing to interact with anyone; some days I neither see nor speak to anyone from before dawn to when i arrive home after dusk. I've done well in my business, and therefore any attempt to claim the £94.50/week on offer through universal credit will be futile; I had to return the first months claim when I was unable to work for 6 months because of lung cancer two years ago, due to the minimum income floor in my case of £1050, and outstanding invoice totals. Sport to spoil? , there is none in these times, unless you count the Olympics and other "unnecessary" activities. Self awareness, responsibility and doing the right thing?, well thoughts on that might be more aptly directed at those who shop with a mega trolley or insist on converging at the nearest beach or park or caravan site at the first sign of sunny weather. Keeping a sense of proportion and sane? I'd have thought that anyone owning a Morgan is most likely capable of that, and burbling round for a half hour in what most insurers would consider to be a better than average maintained car, and a more careful than average driver, with less than the average number of vehicles on the road, I would suggest is a pretty low risk.
Here's hoping we all stay healthy and sane with the best possible outcome.
Be careful, and be kind cozychair
